DramaMusicalRomance118 min

A world-famous film director hits a creative and personal crisis while trying to launch his next film and keep hold of the many relationships around him. Daniel Day-Lewis is the filmmaker at the center of the spiral, with Marion Cotillard among the women pulling his attention between work, romance, and memory. Rob Marshall frames the story as a musical, moving through rehearsal spaces, sidewalk cafés, sequined stage fantasies, and flashes of 1960s glamour as the director’s stalled project and tangled private life begin to blur together.
