Whip It

Drama111 min

In Bodeen, Texas, indie-rock-loving teen Bliss slips out from under beauty-pageant expectations when she discovers a roller derby league in nearby Austin. Elliot Page is the small-town misfit at the center, while Marcia Gay Harden is her disapproving mother, pushing her toward a more polished life. On the track, Bliss trades pageant routines for bruises, nicknames, and a new circle of skaters, as the film moves between small-town family pressure and the louder, messier world she finds for herself.
