In the Bedroom
CrimeDramaThriller131 min
Matt Fowler is a doctor in coastal Maine, married to music teacher Ruth and watching his college-aged son slip deeper into a fraught summer relationship. Tom Wilkinson and Sissy Spacek anchor the Fowlers as Frank, Nick Stahl’s restless young son, falls for Natalie (Marisa Tomei), an older single mother with two children and an ex-husband still close by. What begins as a family’s uneasy adjustment to changing loyalties gradually narrows into something darker, with the brief calm of a Maine summer giving way to loss, anger, and the private strains inside a marriage.
