Vidocq
ActionAdventureCrimeFantasyMysterySci-FiThriller98 min
When famed detective Vidocq vanishes during a confrontation with the Alchemist, a masked killer he has been hunting across 1830 Paris, his young biographer takes up the case himself. Gérard Depardieu is the larger-than-life investigator whose disappearance hangs over the story, while Guillaume Canet’s Etienne Boisset follows a trail through crime scenes, rumors, and a city shadowed by strange science. The mystery threads together serial murders, occult imagery, and the Alchemist’s obsession with youth, giving this historical detective story a sleek, early-steampunk edge.
