For five-year-old Jack, the tiny shed he shares with his mother is the whole world. Brie Larson is Ma, a woman held captive for seven years who has built a complete universe inside that space for her son; Jacob Tremblay’s Jack knows only the skylight above, the routines of their days, and the stories she uses to make sense of it all. When Ma risks everything to get them out, mother and child suddenly face a world Jack has never seen before, where ordinary objects, strangers, and family relationships carry an entirely different scale.
