Bill Murray is Grimm, a clown-disguised robber whose perfectly executed Manhattan bank heist unravels the moment he tries to leave town. With his girlfriend Phyllis Potter (Geena Davis) and his best friend Loomis along for the escape, Grimm finds that every step between the bank and the airport turns into another obstacle: traffic, taxis, the subway, strangers, and plain bad luck. What starts as a clean robbery becomes a citywide scramble through New York, with Jason Robards’s blustery cop drawn into the mess as the trio tries to stay one move ahead.
