A New York mob boss suffering panic attacks secretly seeks help from a suburban psychiatrist, pulling both men into an arrangement neither can keep cleanly separated. Robert De Niro is the crime boss, desperate to keep his therapy off the radar, while Billy Crystal’s Dr. Sobel finds his practice, home life, and impending wedding increasingly tangled up with bodyguards, sit-downs, and midnight calls. Lisa Kudrow appears as Sobel’s fiancée in Harold Ramis’s comic collision of gangster routine and psychoanalysis, where the therapist’s office becomes one more place to negotiate fear, loyalty, and control.
