A Japanese salaryman’s business trip turns into a kidnapping when mercenaries seize his boat and drag him into the lawless port city of Roanapur. Cut loose by the company he expected to rescue him, Rock stays with the Lagoon Company, a gun-running crew that hauls cargo for smugglers, mobsters, and anyone else who pays. As he learns to survive among gang wars and double-crosses, he is pulled deeper into jobs that pit Russian crime syndicates, Chinese triads, and hired killers against each other. Much of the tension comes from Rock’s uneasy place beside Revy, whose answer to most problems is a pair of pistols and more violence.
