Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!

ComedyCrimeDramaRomance111 min

Fresh out of a mental hospital, Ricky (Antonio Banderas) tracks down Marina, an actress he once slept with, and forces her into captivity, convinced that if she stays with him long enough they’ll end up married. Victoria Abril’s Marina is caught between fear, resistance, and the strange logic of her captor’s devotion as the situation grows harder to classify. Directed by Pedro Almodóvar, this Spanish film pushes crime, romance, and dark comedy into the same space, with vivid surfaces and an uneasy focus on control, desire, and intimacy.
