The Constitution

ComedyDrama93 min

Four people in the same building keep their distance from one another until a Croatian professor agrees to help his Serbian neighbor study for a citizenship exam. Nebojša Glogovac is at the center of that uneasy arrangement, with Ksenija Marinković among the other residents drawn into its consequences. As small acts of dependence turn into regular contact, old hostilities and private grievances surface around class, nationality, religion, and sexual orientation. The film stays close to everyday interactions — hallways, apartments, favors, arguments — as people who have spent years avoiding each other are forced into a more complicated kind of proximity.
