The Conspirators
DramaRomanceThrillerWar101 min
Fleeing the Nazis, a Dutch resistance leader reaches wartime Lisbon, where a new circle of underground conspirators offers refuge and a dangerous assignment. Paul Henreid is the hunted freedom fighter, moving through a city of exiles, informants, and shifting loyalties as he falls for Hedy Lamarr's mysterious woman. Sydney Greenstreet and Peter Lorre add familiar wartime intrigue around the edges, turning neutral Portugal into a crossroads for spies and fugitives. Romance and suspicion stay tightly linked as the resistance cell begins to suspect one of its own.
