After a case of mistaken identity throws a sting off course, Special Agent Derrick Vann has to pull an unlikely civilian into a murder investigation racing through Detroit. Samuel L. Jackson is Vann, a federal agent trying to solve the killing of his former partner, while Eugene Levy’s Andy Fiddler is a dental supply salesman suddenly mistaken for someone tied to the case. What follows is an uneasy partnership, with Vann pushing the operation forward and Andy scrambling to keep up as they move between suspects, street deals, and a plan that keeps getting messier.
