Vijay Deverakonda is the son of a prominent atheist who falls hard for a woman from the one family guaranteed to start a feud. Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s heroine is the daughter of a revered Hindu leader — and of her lover’s father’s bitter nemesis. What begins as a romance quickly pulls in clashing parents, belief systems, and family expectations, turning one couple’s relationship into a standoff between households. Kushi draws its comedy and drama from that divide, as affection keeps colliding with old grudges and the people determined to protect them.
