Fate: Tales About Darkness

ComedyDrama119 min

Serdar Orçin is Musa, a customs clerk who sees life as arbitrary and drifts through it with almost no resistance. Work, family, and sudden upheavals arrive with the same flat acceptance, including the death of his mother — a loss that touches him, but also brings him a strange sense of happiness. Zeynep Tokus and Engin Gunaydin are among the people moving through Musa’s orbit as everyday situations take on an off-kilter shape around his detachment. The film follows that disconnect closely, finding uneasy humor and discomfort in the gap between what happens and how little Musa seems moved by it.
