Secret Window

DramaMysteryThriller96 min

Johnny Depp is Mort Rainey, a writer holed up at a remote lake house after a bitter divorce, when a stranger appears at his door accusing him of stealing a story. John Turturro’s visitor won’t let the claim go, and what begins as an ugly confrontation turns into a campaign of threats that leaves Mort scrambling for proof. Maria Bello threads through the story as Mort’s estranged wife, whose ongoing presence keeps old wounds open. As Mort tries to defend himself, the isolation of the house and the gaps in his own memory make it harder to tell what’s accusation, what’s evidence, and what’s coming apart in his mind.
