The Looming Tower

The story

As Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda emerge as a growing threat in the late 1990s, counterterror teams inside the FBI and CIA chase the same target while competing over intelligence. Jeff Daniels is John O'Neill, the forceful FBI agent pushing his New York squad forward, while Tahar Rahim's Ali Soufan works cases that stretch from Washington to overseas investigations. The series follows how institutional rivalry, missed connections, and interagency distrust help set the stage for 9/11 and the Iraq War.
