Speciesism: The Movie
ComedyDocumentary94 min
A filmmaker sets out to examine speciesism: the habit of valuing one living being over another simply because it belongs to a different species. As the investigation unfolds, the film moves from the idea itself to the everyday systems built on it, asking why some animals are protected, some are loved, and others are treated as commodities. The reporting follows the social logic behind those divisions and looks at how ordinary choices connect to larger practices. Directed by Mark Devries, the documentary uses an investigative approach to turn an abstract ethical question into a concrete look at how people draw the line between human and animal lives.
