Our Flags Lead Us Forward
Drama95 min
In Germany, a working-class boy is pulled between two worlds as rival political movements fight for the loyalty of the young. At home and on the street, he faces pressure from adults with hard loyalties and from friends who expect him to choose a side. What begins as a search for belonging turns into a steady push toward discipline, sacrifice, and public commitment as political conflict closes in on his daily life. Based on Karl Aloys Schenzinger’s novel and directed by Hans Steinhoff, the film follows how a teenager’s private doubts become bound up with a movement that demands obedience and turns conviction into a test of identity.
