After refusing an order to fire nuclear weapons, the crew of a U.S. ballistic missile submarine is suddenly branded traitors and attacked by their own country. Cut off from command, they seize a small island and declare themselves a nuclear nation, using the sub’s missiles as their only leverage against the forces closing in around them. As Capt. Marcus Chaplin and Lt. Sam Kendal try to keep the crew together, they face sabotage, divided loyalties, frightened islanders, and a government determined to silence them. What begins as a crisis of command turns into a standoff over who can be trusted and why the order was given in the first place.
