Hope Floats

ComedyDramaRomance114 min

After her husband humiliates her on national television, a Chicago woman returns to her small Texas hometown with her young daughter and moves back in with her sharp-tongued mother. The homecoming gives her no easy refuge: old gossip follows her, her daughter struggles with the upheaval, and the life she left behind suddenly looks less certain than the one she escaped. As she tries to rebuild a sense of dignity and steadiness, a patient old friend offers the possibility of something new, while family tensions keep pulling her back into old wounds. Sandra Bullock leads a story about public heartbreak turning into a difficult, intimate restart.
