Play It Again, Sam

ComedyRomance85 min

After his wife leaves him, Woody Allen is a neurotic film critic trying to date again, armed with bad confidence and an obsession with Casablanca. Diane Keaton and Tony Roberts are the married friends nudging him back into circulation, while an imagined Humphrey Bogart keeps materializing to offer cool, hard-boiled advice that rarely fits real life. The film follows one uneasy attempt at romance after another, with Allen’s movie-fed ideas about charm and masculinity colliding with awkward conversations, blind dates, and the fact that he’s much less Bogart than he’d like to be.
