Veda - Atatürk

DramaWar114 min

Told through the memoirs of his close friend Salih Bozok, this historical drama follows Mustafa Kemal Atatürk from his early years into the wars and political upheavals that reshape the Ottoman Empire and lead to the founding of modern Turkey. The film stays close to the bond between the two men as military campaigns, public duty, and national crisis keep raising the stakes around them. As Atatürk moves from officer to leader, private moments give way to harder choices about loyalty, sacrifice, and the cost of remaking a country. Written and directed by Zülfü Livaneli, it frames a towering public life through the perspective of the friend who witnesses it up close.
