Ann and George arrive at their holiday home with their son Georgie expecting a quiet family trip, then two polite young men show up at the door and turn the visit into a hostage nightmare. Naomi Watts and Tim Roth are the parents, cornered inside their own house as Peter (Brady Corbet) and Paul (Michael Pitt) use good manners, small talk and a golf club to take control. Michael Haneke’s English-language remake keeps the setting ordinary and the intruders almost cheerful, with the violence unfolding through rules, taunts and a steadily tightening countdown to morning.
