The Last Frontier

DramaWestern98 min

At an isolated cavalry post on the Civil War frontier, trapper Jed Cooper and two fellow trappers are drafted as scouts for a disgraced colonel trying to reclaim his standing. Victor Mature is Jed, an outsider suddenly caught inside Army politics, while Robert Preston’s Colonel Frank Marston drives the fort toward a reckless campaign after losing command. With Guy Madison among the younger officers and Anne Bancroft in the colonel’s household, the conflict closes in on Jed from both the field and the fort, as personal loyalties start to matter as much as military orders.
