Kubo and the Two Strings

ActionAdventureAnimationFamilyFantasy102 min

Art Parkinson is Kubo, a young storyteller in feudal Japan whose shamisen and folded paper bring his tales to life for a seaside village. When he accidentally summons a vengeful spirit, he’s pushed into a quest to uncover the truth about his fallen samurai father and find the mystical weaponry tied to his family. Along the way, he travels with a macaque charm and a beetle companion, voiced by Charlize Theron and Matthew McConaughey. The stop-motion animation leans into origami, monsters, and moonlit landscapes as Kubo’s family history opens into something larger and supernatural.
