In a worn-down upstate New York town, an aging construction worker drifts from odd jobs to old grudges, ducking responsibility with the same charm he uses to get by. Sully lives in a rented room, spars with his demanding employer, and keeps one step ahead of the consequences of a badly damaged knee and a lifetime of bad decisions. When his estranged son turns up with grandchildren Sully barely knows, the loose routines of his life start to tighten. As family claims, money trouble, and small-town resentments pile up, Sully has to decide whether to keep slipping free or face the mess he has made. Paul Newman leads, with Bruce Willis as his boss.
