Pat Morrison is an American adventurer chasing a cache of gold hidden in the Philippines during World War II. Burt Reynolds is Morrison, who tracks down the veterans who buried it and pulls them back together for the recovery, only to find an unreliable crew waiting for him: a disenchanted alcoholic, a bitter seaman, and men still carrying old grudges. As the expedition pushes into dangerous territory, Morrison’s attraction to two women — with Anne Francis and Miko Mayama in the middle of the group’s shifting loyalties — makes an already tense treasure hunt even harder to control.
