The Dirty Picture
ComedyDramaMusicalRomance145 min
After running away from home to chase movie stardom, a village girl breaks into Indian cinema and rises into a prominent sex symbol. Vidya Balan is the woman at the center of that climb, turning ambition and self-invention into a public persona that brings attention, desire, and scrutiny. Emraan Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah are among the figures in her orbit as the industry embraces, packages, and judges her image. Inspired by the life and screen persona of Silk Smitha, the film follows the cost of fame as closely as the spectacle built around it.
