Sanjay Mishra is Shambhunath Mishra, a retired middle-school teacher in Gwalior whose ordinary life with his wife Manju is thrown off course when a situation spirals into a killing at his hands. With little time to think, Shambhunath begins trying to cover his tracks and shape the crime into a “perfect murder.” Neena Gupta's Manju is pulled into the strain of it all as the couple’s modest middle-class routine gives way to secrecy, fear, and careful calculation. The film keeps its focus tight on one household as panic and moral compromise settle into daily life.
