The Freshman
ComedyCrime102 min
A New York film student arrives in the city and almost immediately gets pulled into trouble when a petty thief takes his money and luggage. Trying to recover from the loss, he falls in with a powerful importer whose manner and influence suggest a familiar kind of crime boss. Soon the student, played by Matthew Broderick, is doing small jobs for the man and learning that the business reaches far beyond customs paperwork. What he is really being drawn into is a secret banquet built around rare and endangered animals. When he is assigned to transport a live Komodo dragon for the dinner, the job turns into a scramble involving police pressure, gangland suspicion, and a plan that keeps getting stranger.
