In 1947, as British rule in India nears its end, the push for independence collides with negotiations that will divide the subcontinent. Leaders bargain over borders and power while ordinary lives are caught in the fallout, as communities that have lived side by side face fear, rumors, and sudden violence. The series follows the political maneuvering behind Partition and the human cost it unleashes, moving from council rooms and official meetings to trains, streets, and homes thrown into chaos. As the transfer of power approaches, every decision carries wider consequences, and the promise of freedom arrives bound up with displacement, loss, and a country being remade overnight.
