This Is 40

ComedyDramaRomance134 min

As Pete and Debbie stare down their 40th birthdays, money problems, parenting fights, and a fraying marriage start piling up all at once. Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann are a long-married couple trying to keep their family afloat while their businesses stall, their kids are at war, and the house itself feels suddenly out of reach. Judd Apatow keeps the focus on the daily negotiations of marriage — resentments, apologies, sex, school drop-offs, aging parents — with Albert Brooks and John Lithgow adding to the family pressure around them.
