Ali G Indahouse

Comedy85 min

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Ali G, a suburban wannabe rapper with big swagger and no political instincts, gets swept from local troublemaking into a Westminster plot when a scheming chancellor tries to use him against the British government. Instead, Ali ends up in Parliament and becomes an unlikely public sensation. Michael Gambon is the prime minister suddenly linked to the country’s loudest self-appointed spokesman for youth culture. The setup turns Ali’s slang, bluster, and total lack of filter loose on cabinet politics, media spin, and British establishment manners, with Martin Freeman and Charles Dance among the figures caught in the chaos.
