The Paper Chase

ComedyDrama113 min

At Harvard Law School, a first-year student finds himself split between punishing coursework and a romance that gets more complicated once he learns who her father is. Timothy Bottoms is the overwhelmed student, trying to keep up with study groups, reading loads, and the pressure of proving he belongs. Over him stands John Houseman’s Charles Kingsfield, a stern professor whose classroom runs on intimidation, precision, and relentless questioning. Lindsay Wagner is the professor’s daughter, adding another layer to a story built around ambition, anxiety, and the tight, competitive world of elite legal education.
