The Great Alone
ActionAdventureDocumentaryDrama80 min
Iditarod champion Lance Mackey fights to reclaim his place on Alaska’s dog-sled circuit after cancer threatens to knock him off the trail. The documentary follows Lance from boyhood, learning the sport alongside his father, Dick Mackey, to the brutal miles and isolation of elite long-distance racing. With Lance at the center and Dick woven through the family history, the film stays close to the dogs, the snow, and the strain of competing in the Arctic while trying to mount a comeback.
