The Upside
ComedyDrama126 min
Phillip, a wealthy quadriplegic living in a New York penthouse, hires Dell, a recently paroled man with no caregiving background, to help with his daily routine. Bryan Cranston is Phillip, surrounded by money, structure, and constant assistance; Kevin Hart’s Dell takes the job while trying to reconnect with his ex and young son. As they spend more time together, their arrangement shifts from awkward necessity to an unlikely friendship, with the film balancing broad comic friction and quieter drama around class, independence, and two men coming from very different worlds.
