The Road

ActionAdventureDramaThriller111 min

A father and his young son move through a burned, post-apocalyptic America, pushing a cart down empty roads and heading for the warmer south without knowing what, if anything, waits there. Viggo Mortensen is the father, gaunt and watchful, while Kodi Smit-McPhee’s boy is growing up under rules shaped by hunger, cold, and the threat of other survivors. As they search abandoned houses and scraps of shelter, the film stays close to the stripped-down routine of survival: keep moving, hide when necessary, and protect the small bond that still gives the world around them any meaning.
