Phule

130 min

In 19th-century India, Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule take on a society built to keep education and dignity out of reach for the oppressed. As they begin teaching those shut out by caste and gender, their work turns into a direct challenge to entrenched power, social custom, and public hostility. The film follows how their partnership becomes both a reform movement and a daily act of resistance, as each step forward brings sharper backlash from the world around them. Pratik Gandhi and Patralekha portray the couple at the center of a struggle that widens from the classroom into a larger fight over equality, access, and social change.
