Gorillas in the Mist

Drama129 min

Sigourney Weaver is Dian Fossey, the scientist who travels to Rwanda to study vanishing mountain gorillas and becomes fiercely involved in protecting them from poachers and human encroachment. Living in the cloud forest and working at close range, Fossey learns the animals’ habits, imitates their movements, and slowly earns a place near them. Bryan Brown’s Bob Campbell, a wildlife photographer, enters her world as her research draws wider attention. The film follows Fossey’s work in the mountains as observation turns into advocacy, with the gorillas at the center of both her scientific mission and her fight to keep them alive.
