Mission to Mars
ActionAdventureDramaMysterySci-FiThriller114 min
After the first manned mission to Mars is torn apart by a mysterious disaster near an unidentified structure, a second crew is sent to investigate and recover any survivors. Gary Sinise is Jim McConnell, a veteran astronaut on the rescue flight, while Don Cheadle's Luke Graham is stranded on the planet with no way to contact Earth. Tim Robbins and Connie Nielsen are part of the follow-up team as the mission shifts from a recovery operation to a search for answers about what the first crew encountered. Brian De Palma frames the story around spaceflight procedure, mechanical failures, and the isolation of the Martian surface.
