In the near future, astronaut Roy McBride is sent across the solar system when mysterious power surges begin threatening life on Earth. Brad Pitt is Roy, a tightly controlled officer whose mission points back to a vanished expedition — and the father at its center. Tommy Lee Jones is the missing man, a celebrated explorer who disappeared decades earlier while searching the unknown. As Roy travels farther from home, the job turns from a crisis response into a personal search, linking a planetary threat to one family’s unfinished history.
