Good-natured Ben Healy adopts seven-year-old Junior to give his image-conscious wife Flo the family she wants, then discovers their new son leaves chaos wherever he goes. John Ritter is Ben, a decent suburban dad trying to keep up as Michael Oliver’s grinning Junior turns a camping trip, a birthday party and a baseball game into escalating disasters. Amy Yasbeck’s Flo is less patient with the upheaval at home, and the film keeps pushing Ben between family-man optimism and the growing suspicion that nobody at the orphanage warned him nearly enough.
