After her four-year-old daughter is found dead at school, a grieving teacher begins to suspect that the students in her classroom are not as innocent as they seem. Takako Matsu is the film’s steady center, carrying a woman whose mourning hardens into suspicion and revenge inside a Japanese school marked by secrecy and blame. Yoshino Kimura and Masaki Okada are part of the surrounding adult world as the aftermath of the girl’s death widens beyond a private loss. What starts with a teacher’s grief quickly becomes a darker reckoning with cruelty, guilt, and the stories people tell to protect themselves.
