Twenty-eight days after a virus escapes a British research lab, Jim wakes from a coma to find London deserted and its survivors hunted by the infected. Cillian Murphy is Jim, a bicycle courier thrown into a country transformed by sudden, contagious rage; Selena (Naomie Harris) becomes his guide to the new rules of staying alive. A radio broadcast points them toward soldiers outside Manchester, and the trip north gathers more survivors, including a father and daughter. Danny Boyle frames the collapse through empty hospitals, abandoned streets, and flashes of violence that arrive with almost no warning.
