Andre Allen is a New York comic turned movie star whose biggest hit was a trilogy of action comedies about a talking bear, but he’s desperate to be taken seriously after his Haitian Revolution drama is savaged by critics. A few days before his heavily publicized wedding to a reality-TV star, Chris Rock’s Andre is stuck spending the day with Chelsea Brown (Rosario Dawson), a New York Times writer assigned to profile him. As they make their way across the city, the interview turns into something looser and more revealing, pulling Andre back toward his stand-up roots and the messier parts of his public and private life.
