Veronika Voss
Drama105 min
In Munich in 1955, fading film star Veronika Voss lives in obscurity, dependent on morphine and increasingly under the control of the doctor who keeps her supplied. Rosel Zech is Veronika, a onetime screen idol whose chance meeting with sports writer Robert Krohn pulls him into her fragile, unsettled world; Hilmar Thate's Robert becomes entangled as she begins to imagine a return to the screen. As their relationship intensifies, the film traces the gap between Veronika’s old celebrity and her present dependence, against the polished surfaces of postwar German society.
