Anything Else

ComedyDramaRomance108 min

Jerry Falk is a young comedy writer in New York whose career is barely moving when he falls hard for Amanda, an impulsive woman who keeps throwing their relationship off balance. Jason Biggs carries Jerry’s mix of ambition and nerves, while Christina Ricci gives Amanda a mercurial presence that keeps affection and frustration tangled together. Hovering over Jerry’s love life and professional worries is Woody Allen’s David Dobel, a fast-talking mentor with increasingly paranoid advice, and Danny DeVito appears as Jerry’s blustering agent Harvey. As work stalls and the relationship grows more complicated, Jerry keeps trying to make sense of a city, a career, and a romance he can’t quite control.
