In Old California
ActionAdventureRomanceWestern91 min
Boston pharmacist Tom Craig heads west to Gold Rush-era Sacramento to open a new business, only to collide with a local machine built on intimidation and payoff money. John Wayne is Craig, an outsider whose medical trade makes him useful in a boomtown and vulnerable to its corruption. When political boss Britt Dawson (Albert Dekker) frames him with poisoned medicine, Craig is forced to clear his name while a deadly epidemic spreads through the city. The film folds frontier action, civic corruption, and romance into an early-California backdrop shaped by the rush for gold.
