In the mythical European city of Leisure, married couple Jack and Elvira treat seduction like a standing wager after a swinging night with two tourists they answered through a newspaper ad. Elvira, who calls herself a sexual snob, bets she can win over newlywed Betsy before midnight; if she can’t, Jack gets his turn with Betsy’s husband Eddie, a handsome marine biologist. The film takes that bedroom contest and stretches it into a stylized early-1970s erotic farce, with an off-Broadway premise, an unreal city, and a frank interest in shifting desire between all four characters.
