Nick Adams is the wandering ex-soldier at the center, moving from town to town with a shotgun, a wary streak, and a tendency to step in when trouble starts. Each stop brings a new pocket of conflict in the postwar West, with familiar faces turning up along the way, including Jack Elam and Agnes Moorehead.
